Meet GC Mackenzie

Mackenzie is a first-time surrogate from Minnesota. She discovered her passion as a labor and delivery nurse but has recently taken time off for her most important role—being a mom to her two children, Hudson and Charlie. Mackenzie loves staying active and is incredibly competitive in recreational sports like sand volleyball, badminton, pickleball, and cornhole 🎾🏐. During the summer, you’ll often find her at the lake with her family, and in the fall, she enjoys cheering on the NDSU football team 🏈. Passionate about health and wellness, Mackenzie’s positive attitude is truly infectious. She matched with her IPs back in August, and they are planning for a January transfer! Learn more about Mackenzie and her surrogacy journey below!

Her Path to Surrogacy

"I was sitting with my youngest Charlie when she was about 15 months old, and I had just

finished my breastfeeding journey with her and I was just thinking, wow I loved being

pregnant and had such great pregnancies and deliveries that I would love to be pregnant again but our family just felt complete. That’s when I thought 'What if I could help another family bring life into this world?'. That’s when I started to look up surrogacy agencies which led me to Collective."

Choosing Collective Surrogacy

"When I first started looking for an agency I did not want to just feel like a transaction or a rental unit for a family or agency. Collective from the first day has made me feel so comfortable and have treated me like family. If there is ever a concern, they are always there to address it or answer questions openly and honestly. I have never once been treated like I am only a transaction for them and they have treated me so kindly. Ever since I have joined Collective, I feel as though I have a whole other family that I am apart of!"

Finding the Right Match

"I knew right away when my intended parent’s profile was sent to me that they were the right match. I immediately called my coordinator and said, 'I think I’m in love with them!' Our core values about health and wellness really aligned well and so did our personalities. I could tell just from reading their profile how well we would mesh. When we talked to them on our match meeting it was an instant connection, the conversation just flowed, and it didn’t feel forced."

A Journey of Positive Support

"My friends and family have been incredibly positive and never doubted that I’d make a great surrogate. Many of my friends said that since I had such positive experiences with my own pregnancies, why not do it again and help someone else? They’ve been incredibly supportive, even volunteering to watch our kids whenever I need to travel or attend appointments."

Words for Others Thinking of Becoming Surrogates

"I would tell a surrogate just beginning their journey that they are amazing, not a lot of people in this world are willing to do this for someone else, let alone someone they don’t even know and it’s an amazing gift to be able to give someone."

Looking Forward to Delivery

"I am most excited about delivering the baby and seeing my intended parents first look and hold their baby. I have worked in labor and delivery for a couple years and I have seen this moment over a hundred times but there is just something special about being able to help someone have this moment who wouldn’t be able to without your help. That is such an amazing moment that can’t be recreated, and I am so excited to help them be able to bring a child into this world."
