Kelsey is soaking up every moment of motherhood, and now, surrogacy🤰! She is a first-time surrogate from Indiana. She is an outdoor-loving, fun-spirited mom, and she brings warmth, strength, and authenticity to everything she does. Supporting her through her very first surrogacy journey has been an absolute joy. From day one, she has led with heart, courage, and deep compassion for her intended parents and the surrogacy process.

Her Path to Surrogacy

Kelsey’s path to surrogacy began in a deeply personal way. “My husband and I had friends who were struggling to conceive. I remember thinking to myself that if it didn’t work out for them, I would offer to carry their baby.” Although their friends ultimately conceived their daughter without needing a surrogate, the idea of surrogacy never faded. It stayed quietly rooted in her heart, waiting for the right time. That gentle nudge became something she couldn’t ignore—and eventually, she chose to follow it.

Choosing Collective Surrogacy

When Kelsey began researching agencies, she was looking for something that felt welcoming and aligned with her values. “After doing research, the website seemed the most inviting to me.” After submitting a contact form, she received a call from her journey coordinator—and instantly felt at peace with her decision. “I knew I was in the right place.”

Finding the Right Match

Sometimes you just know. “From the first Zoom call, their smiles were infectious. I couldn’t do anything except smile when talking with them.” Her intended parents expressed gratitude before they were even officially matched. They acknowledged her willingness to consider such a selfless act and made her feel valued from the start. “They thanked me prior to matching with them and let me know how amazing I was for even considering them. I couldn’t pass by such a genuine couple.” And just like that, a partnership was formed, built on respect, warmth, and shared joy.

A Blissful Journey

Kelsey describes her pregnancy as “quiet yet blissful.” She’s embraced this season fully, describing herself as being in her own “little winter bubble,” peacefully growing this baby boy. There’s something incredibly special about the calm confidence she carries, trusting her body, the process, and the purpose behind it all.

Navigating Concerns with Confidence

Like many surrogates, Kelsey encountered mixed reactions at first. “Surrogacy can be taboo and scary to some.” Thankfully, her biggest supporter was right beside her. “My husband being super supportive told me to go for it!” While some loved ones initially shared concerns, they watched her confidence grow and in time, their confidence grew too! Her steady reassurance and clarity about her decision helped others see the beauty in what she was doing.

Overcoming Challenges

No surrogacy journey is without its hurdles. Around six weeks, Kelsey experienced a subchorionic hemorrhage. “It was a very scary and emotional couple days.” But after an ultrasound and bloodwork confirmed everything was progressing normally, relief washed over her. She also discovered she was allergic to the oil used in her progesterone injections. “That was less than pleasant!” Once the medication was adjusted, things improved significantly. Through each unexpected challenge, Kelsey handled it with resilience and calm determination.

The Home Stretch

Now at 35 weeks, Kelsey is officially in the home stretch. “I’m excited to see how labor and delivery play out. I cannot wait to see what little boy looks like!” There’s anticipation, excitement, and a deep sense of fulfillment as she prepares to help bring this long-awaited baby into the world. When asked what has meant the most, her answer says it all: “Knowing that I am making a difference in my IP’s life has made this all worth it. I am changing their life as well as changing my own.” Surrogacy isn’t just about growing a baby, it’s about growing perspective, compassion, and lifelong bonds.

Her Advice to Future Surrogates

Kelsey offers simple but powerful advice: “No one knows what is right for you except for you. If surrogacy is on your heart, don’t let the outside noise change your mind.” Trust your heart. Trust your calling. And trust that something placed there so intentionally is worth exploring.
